Relationship report cards rate most partners 'B minus'

Ever wished you could hand your partner a report card? A new survey invited couples to do exactly that—and the results suggest that some relationship game-upping is required!

While the average scores for effort made with families (B minus), kissing (B), humour (B minus) and taste in TV and movies (B minus) are perfectly respectable, there’s definite room for improvement in some other relationship must-haves.

For making an effort with friends, one in five women score their boyfriends an F. And C+ was the average score for showing affection in public, patience, listening skills and overall romantic ability!

The study also found there can be quite a disparity between how girlfriends grade their boyfriends and how boyfriends actually grade themselves. For example, girlfriends gave their boyfriends only a C for their spontaneity within their relationship, but boyfriends grade themselves a healthy 8 percentage points higher in the same category.

Boyfriends also thought of themselves as more of a romantic than maybe they really are, with boyfriends giving themselves a B minus in the category, and girlfriends giving them nearly half a letter grade lower...
