Would you get naked on a first date?

We're not being cheeky - the question is rather more literal than you might think: would you accept an invitation to a date... in London's first naked food hangout?

If the words 'Clothing: optional' are what you look for in a restaurant's dress code, you're in good company: the pop-up restaurant, The Bunyadi (meaning 'fundamental', 'base' or 'natural') - set to open in London in summer 2016 - already has a waiting list of 37,000+ customers waiting to dine out in their birthday suits at the 42-seater eatery.

The restaurant's website tells diners they will enter "a secret Pangaea-like world free from phones, electric lights and even clothing", in which they can "revisit the beginning where everything was fresh, free and unadulterated from the trappings of modern life". Meanwhile, the restaurant's co-founder said: "We believe people should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities: no chemicals, no articifical colours, no electricity, no gas, no phone and even no clothes."

Food will be wood-flame grilled and served on handmade clay crockery and even the cutlery itself will be edible.

If you're wondering how you'll get there sans clothing (after all, there aren't naked carriages on the Tube just yet), fear not: the restaurant will provide lockers for those who wish to dine in the nuddy (or with lightweight gowns to cover their modesty). And if you'd rather the meat and two veg were on the menu rather than on display, there's a separate seating area for those who wish to remain clothed.

Make ours a steak, medium bare.
