• Bride and groom signing marriage register on wedding day

Grooms recall the first moment they saw their bride walking down the aisle - and it's adorable

As she enters the wedding venue, all eyes are on the bride. But as the rest of the congregation clamours to check out the bride's frock, what's the leading man thinking? Internet grooms have been revealing what crossed their minds as they first saw that vision in white gliding up the aisle...

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE, AND NOT A DROP TO DRINK!

"I bawled my eyes out. It was embarrassing. Not nice silent little tears, full on ugly crying when I was trying to read aloud my vows. She laughed at me. I love her.”

SHE'S WORTH EVERY LAST PENNY

“I was pretty upset about how much we had spent on the wedding. ( I don't believe in fancy weddings, but it was her dream so I went with it).  As soon as I saw her walking down the aisle I thought ‘I could have paid 30 times over the amount to live this moment over and over again.’”

KISSIN' IN THE RAIN

"Had an outdoor wedding at a local state park (where we always hung out together when we first started dating). Forecast was sunny the entire week leading up to the big day... boom rained/drizzled throughout the day... she was upset about it but I find it extremely romantic, getting to kiss her with little droplets of water on her face with a huge smile. Best moment of my life."

I HOPE SHE DOESN'T NOTICE MY FACE!

A few minutes earlier just before the ceremony began a friend had jokingly tripped me. It backfired as I fell and smashed my face on a beer bottle on a table and made a huge gash running from my temple to my jaw. I didnt want to ruin the wedding so they just stuffed my face with napkins and covered it with duck tape (thats what it was called at the time). The blood I just left on my suit. 46 years later I still have a scar on the side of my face and 46 years later we are still married and 46 years later I still give my friend s*** about it!"

DON'T HAVE A HEART ATTACK!

"Oh my god.......she's more beautiful in this moment that I've ever seen her. You're not breathing. You're not breathing. You still aren't breathing. Ouch, why does my chest hurt? Holy s***, there's a huge lump in my throat. Is that why I can't breathe?? Oh man here she comes. It's getting blurry.....JUST. BREATHE!"
