3 things we learned when Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank

The second royal wedding of 2018 was an absolute corker. The bride looked as resplendent as any princess ever was; the groom looked like the cat that got the cream. And, best of all, the big day was packed full of surprising twists which kept us glued to the screen throughout.

1. THE GUEST LIST WAS LIKE A ROLL CALL OF THE MOST FAMOUS PEOPLE ON THE PLANET

Princess Eugenie is the third of the Queen's four granddaughters and is ninth in line to the throne. In layman terms that means she's pretty important, but no biggie in terms of coronations an all that malarkey. So while we knew she'd have an okay little black book, we weren't expecting that the guest list at her wedding would read like a list of every famous person in the entire world ever. Present were supermodels Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss, actresses Demi Moore and Liv Tyler, and singers, James Blunt, Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams. Stephen Fry, David and Victoria Beckham, and George and Amal Clooney also put in a stylish appearance. That's some squad you've got there Eugenie!

2. THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF THUNDER STEALING—NAUGHTY HARRY AND MEGHAN!

Things you don't do as a guest at regular weddings include proposing, announcing your own engagement or that you're expecting a baby. Things you don't do as a guest at a Royal wedding include all of the above, plus giving the paparazzi any hint whatsoever that any of the above are imminent. So when Prince Harry's wife of nearly six months seemed at pains to hide her barely-there midriff from the cameras, the world's press went into thunder-stealing overtime. Lo and behold, no sooner had Eugenie hung up her tiara, than the Duke and Duchess were revealing their pregnancy. Within minutes of Buckingham Palace's announcement, mother of the bride Sarah Ferguson took to Twitter to remind the world that there'd just been a wedding. See below. That's HASHTAG WEDDING. Got that?

3. WE'VE ALL BEEN PRONOUNCING HER NAME WRONG SINCE LIKE 1990

You-Janie. That's how you pronounce her name, right? Wrong. The Archbishop of York, presiding over the wedding service, repeatedly said her name as Yoo-junne. And just in case you were wondering if old Yorkie was the one getting it wrong, Eugenie's husband confirmed the correct pronunciation in his vows. And he should know.
